As environmental sustainability takes centre stage in today’s industrial landscape, companies across the globe are increasingly investing in innovative technologies to become more sustainable. Diageo, a leading alcoholic beverage producer, has taken a step in this direction by the installation of four CIPSense systems to pilot in two of their facilities before the end of this year.
On October 31, 2023, a team of engineers carried out a site visit to Diageo’s Belfast packaging site, marking the beginning of an exciting project to pilot enhancing efficiency while reducing water and energy consumption.
The CIPSense Advantage:
CIPSense is an innovative solution designed to revolutionise Clean-In-Place (CIP) processes by creating a dynamic CIP optimisation system. These processes are critical for maintaining the cleanliness and integrity of equipment used in the production of beverages, however, they often require substantial amounts of water and energy.
CIPSense introduces advanced sensor technology and intelligent control systems that allow for real-time monitoring and optimisation of the CIP procedures. The key goal of this technology is to reduce the waste of valuable resources while maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
By integrating patented technology into their processes, Diageo aims to:
- Water stewardship: CIPSense’s advanced sensors and control systems are expected to reduce the amount of water required for the CIP procedures.
- Lower Energy Usage: The CIPSense systems will provide precise control over energy consumption during the CIP processes, thus contributing to reduced energy usage and a smaller carbon footprint.
